Raymond Valance was a Constructeur de Cycles + Tandems in Paris, at least in the early 50s. It says so on the itemized list (in french) of the components it took to convert a tandem formerly owned by the 1938 French Amateur winning team, double male, to a touring machine.
I purchased a mixte, a mens touring single and the tandem, along with assorted period documentation, including photo negatives of the bikes in the 50's. There is a lot to do, photos to take etc. I'll get to it I hope. It is very exiting for me to be involved with some vintage stuff that is really new to me. I don't recognize most of the components. It is the kind of stuff you need the Data Book for. I hope the list can help me sort it all out. I put some lousy photos up on photopoint, that, theoretically, you can see using my email address. plee1@optonline.net
More to come later,
