Supposing you were going to buy a road bike today. Given our general preferences lets say it would be steel, lugged, one color.

Would you buy a Masi or a Waterford and why?

Although I'd love a Masi, since I do not have a "pure" Italian Frame... I'd probably find a good English builder and buy a hand-built frame, custom ordered to my specifications,if I wanted a "rider".. The reason being that I suspect there are some fine English builders who would do up a frame for me for a good price both for me and them due to the relatively strong dollar/weak pound - compounded by the lack of demand for English framebuilders. If I wanted the best handwork, attention to detail, and paint.. I'd buy American. If I wanted somewhere in the middle, with mystique, tifosi screaming in the background and cut out lugs with "clubs" "hearts" etc... I'd buy Italian.

Sorry, not a simple answer to your poll, but I think that there are some journeyman British builders who might be better appreciated for "journeyman frames"...

However, you asked and I'll answer.. Waterford or Masi... based on what I have and what I want... Masi.
