-------------------------------- Age of Schwinn Superior?

Posted on the Schwinn Collector Forum by Big O <fixedfreak@hotmail.com> on August 29, 2001 at 06:19:33: I'm trying to date (and gather info) on a Schwinn Superior (frame, fork, cranks & headset) I picked up at the Larz Anderson swap meet. It has rearward facing dropouts, an "AS&Co." chainring on cottered cranks, top-hat-in-a-circle decal on the seat tube, brazeons for fenders, chainguard (possibly original), paint is sort of burgundy with two-tone pinstriping. The serial #, on the bottom bracket begins with either a P or R (not sure) followed by 12272. Any information about the bike, especially it's original specifications and equipment, would be appreciated. Also, any source for appropriate decals would help lots.
