I must follow that post up with a few comments:
- Really Chuck shouldn't have used the CR list to go after Nels, but honestly I think old Nels probably drove him to it and if I were in his boots, I would have likely done the same thing. Nels Cone, for those of you who do not know, is an eccentric (?) bike guy in Seattle area who has roundly alienated many-most people (including the list manager!) with erratic and antagonistic behavior. He really big-time attacked me a year or two ago and I was amazing in his lack of constraint and venom! I don't know exactly what got Nels started on his vendetta against Chuck but it has been going on for years now. Chuck can be a bit of a wise guy and uses a lot of sarcasm (!!) but he is not a bad guy and he is worth defending against these extremely brutal attacks from Nels. (Those are a lot of words for a topic we shouldn't be boring you all with!)
- The impending Velo Rendezvous has already elicited my tongue-in-cheek statement to Chuck that I resent the fact that it will be a big success the first time out! It will be a great event, the folks who attend will have a ball and those (like myself) who will miss it will be the sorrier for it! There are so few meets covering our favorite topic that it distresses me that anyone would want to undermine any of our events! So please attend if you can!
