Had the pleasure of attending the Gear Exchange this weekend where I saw Harvey Sachs, Larry Black, Wayne Bingham (I think that was Bingham) as well as other old faces from the DC racing world of years gone by. There were a couple of tables with some choice 70's / 80's vintage gear. Crazy Dave had a bunch of NOS Campy stuff, most of it late NR/SR and early post SR. He had a pretty good but poorly organized stash of small parts such as bearings, brakeshoes, toestraps etc. He will probably be at T-town so I encourage those in attendance to comb over his pile (as soon as I'm done with it.)

I also crossed paths with my old "directeur sportif" Sterling. Quite a character then as now. Sterling sold the good stuff out of the trunk on his car at races in the 80's. He sold bike parts too. He had skin shorts, Celo-tape, Muscolor, and Duegi 101's back when that stuff was the absolute cutting edge, before even "Don" Pinto had the stuff. His for-sale pile reflected his Campa-Gucci tastes. A friend picked up his "Mexico" panto-ed SR crank arms, Pinarello panto'ed SR ring and Seatpost. I scored some silly stuff (OMAS Ti BB, Zeus 2000 alloy freewheel and Zeus 2000 Ti pedals) as well some bread and butter stuff (NR post, NOS NR hubs, Winner Pro Freewheels). I'm afraid that between my friend and myself we pretty much hogged up all of Sterling's choice old stuff. But if anyone needs NOS wood-soled Duegis...
