Not truly retro, but retro in spirit!
We are having a batch of Eddy Merckx Corsa 01 frames built and then painted in the classic Molteni Orange. Because we're doing a big batch, there will be no custom upcharge from the importer for these. The cost of the frame is $1,000. The frame uses Deddaci steel tubing - with a threaded steerer and a conventional fork crown. We'll try to get them made with a few other retro touches as possible. We need to take firm orders (and a $250 depost) by October 15. Delivery will drag on for awhile, we're told about 4 months from the time we place the order.
We can also get other Merckx frames in the Molteni paint as well we suspect - so if your taste runs to the modern (or to an MX leader perhaps) we can accomodate at that time.
