No offense to your expertise Chuck, but I think the pedals he has are the later model Nuovo Record, which did not have the strap tang or 1037 number, as pictured in Catalog #18 page 50 (my copy dated 1985). I have several pairs of both types. I seem to remember they lost the tangs about 1980. Good riddance! Whose skinny feet could fit in there with the strap through the tangs? The Gran Sport #3700 of that era was a less-expensive lookalike, but actually had alloy cages instead of chrome steel.
