First off the tubing sticker is totally wrong for the 20's. Plus if memory serves 531 didn't come about until the mid-30's. Was Alvin Drysdale even building frames in the 20's? My guess is this is a repaint from the 60's. Though I could just be totally wrong but I doubt it.
It's things like this frame that kept me off Ebay for so long. Actually two weeks ago I went to the darkside so that I could bid on Joshua Putnam Simplex stuff for my Lenton Grand Prix. Alas I don't think I'll get the bike built up for the monthly left coast classic ride-- next month. Anyway Ebay usually just makes me angry because of all the misrepresentation and mostly high prices. Though with the Simplex stuff I got from Josh sometimes it's the only place to find stuff.
I don't really have problems with people buying boxes or oddball parts for huge prices since it's their money. I have a problem with people posting things with skyhigh reserve prices then reposting a couple of weeks later with lower prices until it sells. This is just a huge waste of bandwidth and time. Also people who say, "Campy like" for TA Cyclotourist cranks and other NON-Campy items just so the search will pull up their sale. This just urks me to no end.
I do have to add that my first personal experience of buying something off Ebay was just fine and I only paid $1.50 more than I would have offered him in cash. All in all quite nice, now if I can only find a crankset and FW.
