This thread reminds me of a similar thread all not that long ago. My friend, Bertrum, works at Brands Bike shop in NY, or at least til the end of the month then he's moving here to PA, but he is the individual who has an absolutely beatiful 80s Lotus, white with chrome lugs. Just a very nice attractive ride. He also has a Concorde which dates to the 80s, Betrum was once a pro rider. he was a member of the Guyana Olympic Team and raced with his brother (another good pro) Byron in the Carribean and South America for years. He purchased his concorde when he demolished a Gios racing in Canada. Bertrum and I ride frequently and he is still Pro Quality, but none of his bicycles are later than the late 80s, He still races with 7 speed freewheels and old components. Excellent example of a classic racer and rider! His Concorde is Columbus SL with nice etchings of "C"s on the brake bridges, BB, and nice clean lugs. Bertrum also had the pleasure of working at Brands where frequently Lawyers, Doctors, and others would come in to upgrade year in and year out for the latest and greatest. Many of these guys would just "GIVE" the old bikes to Bertrum to discard of for them. Poor devil! He has quite a stable of nice looking bikes of all brands and probably for minimal if any investment. Now, someone remind me, With nice extra benefits like this why did I go into Nursing and Computers again??
