Lads & Lassies: This morning I logged on, only to receive a flood of 47 new <CR> messages. first thought: Too damned many "Me-To" messages. So, I actually classified and counted this set. Nah, the statistics ain't good, but I was actually heartened by the results:
8 real questions in this sample, real requests for info or help. 20 real, substantive "chunks" of information. Lovelies to be archived, like rim weights & such. Thank you, everyone! 7 notes on items for sale, including pointers to auctions 10 items that I considered "chat" of which I disapprove - but the senders obviously disagree.
So, my results certainly aren't precise, but I see the bright side: How many listservs provide 80% information and requests for info, and do so w/o flames or other incivility? Quite a compliment to Dale and all ya'll.
Ah: please don't reply to this with a "chat" message to the group, but if you want to replay privately I'll tabulate and post. Maybe. :-)
Thanks
