Moreno Argentin of Italy won the road race at the World Cycling Championships in Colorado Springs, 1986. Luckily for me, a co-worker's wife worked at the Cheyenne Mountain Inn, where the Italian team stayed during the Worlds and a team member gave her the Team Italia cap that the Italian team wore during the World Cycling Championships in 86. She gave it to me. I have some video of that race that is not in the best condition but it was a great battle between Argentin, Charlie Mote of France, and Rolf Goelz (SP?) of then W. Germany. Lemond and Hinault were left far behind. I would imagine that Bianchi made that limited edition bike in '87 to commerate Argentin's win. He rode a S.R. equipped celeste Bianchi with non-aero brake levers to win that race of around 120 miles held at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, elevation >7000'.
