Like classic and vintage bikes and parts, the tandem market is a bit "thin"
or "ill-liquid." The Tandem Club of America supports a web site with
classified ads, which may be the best available
resource. http://www.mindspring.com/
W/o having tracked these things closely for a couple of years, I can't remember a 4-figure price for a Schwinn Paramount tandem. by modern standards, the frame is very close-coupled, with much less room for the "stoker" than is customary today. Many had same-side drive, which made rigging triple drive cogs hard.
In the spirit of this list, I'm happy to help folks off-list with tandem questions, but real enthusiasts want to join that list, <tandem@hobbes.ucsd.edu>
