On my Raleigh Pro ('72), I noticed that some of the Campy parts have a 'C' inside a diamond stamped on the part, e.g., the pedals. I remember someone once telling me that they understood that Carlton was a big buyer for Campy, and Campy marked parts intended for Carlton with the 'C.' True? 2. Also, the hubs on this bike only feature the "Campagnolo" script, while my '75 Moto Le Champion's hubs feature the "Record" in block print underneath the script. Is this a clue as to the vintage of hubs?

Andy,

Yes, I too have heard that Raleigh/Carlton pedals were stamped with the C in the diamond.

The word "Record" was added to the hub shells around 1963.
