Dear All

As a new member of the list from across the pond I am hoping that some of you can help with a US product.

I recently found a Veeder cyclometer at a bike jumble and I want to know whether it is of a suitable age to fit to one of my 1950's lightweights. It is one of the two window type with a trip reading as well as main. It is very nicely made and is marked "The Veeder Mfg Co Hartford Conn USA" It has three patent dates - Oct 22 1895, Jun 18 1901 and Aug 15 1911 but I suspect that it was made a long time after the last date. It also is stamped with 1.26 S although the last could be 5. Does this show that it was made for 26 inch wheels?

Any info as to the date for this interesting item would be welcome.
