The first few years of production, the SR Ti spindle was an exact replica (hollow) of a NR spindle, except for the races which were steel, and pressed on. The next edition of the SR Ti spindle was solid and incorporated external threaded ends for a special low profile nut.

So, if your SR Ti spindle takes a standard 15 mm crank bolt.....you've got the first edit. style. If your spindle has external threaded ends to accept a nut.....you have the 2nd edit. style.

Were all Campagnollo ti spindles the type with male spindle ends with "nuts"

that held on the crank instead of crank bolts like most? If not, do the male

ended ones indicate they are hollow? Lou Deeter, "cooling my heels at 85 deg
