Subject: [CR]Repair Stands (Long).

Hello All. I have made the complete circle when it comes to repair stands. First there were the bungee cords from the rafters of the garage, then came the downtube at bottom bracket tripod stand, then the State Aluminum stand and then I bit the bullet an bought a Park Professional. Despite extreme care and padding when clamping on to tubes I have had torn decals and have had bikes gradually slide down while wrenching on them. I decided to purchase a Park tool that slips into the seat tube and expands out like a stem wedge. This allowed the bike to be worked on without jepordising the paint or decals. This tool works great on everything EXCEPT vintage CINELLIS with a 26.2 post--- the cool Park tool gets hung up on the inside of the seattube and creates somewhat of a chinese finger puzzle---it'll go in but it aint gonna come out without some grief. These days, for most of my work, I use inexpensive tie-down straps looped over the garage rafters and hooked to the saddle rail with a toe clip strap around the stem extention and tie-down hooked to that and again to the rafter. The beauty of this set up is that you can adjust the height, angle and-- no dented 3V tubes, Cinelli eating Park tools and its cheap. Best Wishes, Dave Martinez
