I remember seeing a few years back a picture in a cycling magazine (unfortunately I can't recall which one) of Richard Virenque riding a Peugeot on one of the mountain stages of the TDF. The bike in question, painted as a Peugeot, had curved seatstays. The caption on the picture indicated that the bike was most likely a titanium Litespeed, since they were using the curved seatstays at the time. I believe this bike was only used in the mountain stages.

You have a point and I agree.. I should have said in the world of high end bicycle sales, not necessarily pro racing. And there are competitions other than pro! Of course the pros race bikes that their sponsorships dictate. I know of only a few Ti users like Ocana on Speedwell and Lance on a Litespeed painted-as-Trek, and in those cases being special purpose bikes at that! Can other CR members point out Ti bikes in use in the Pro ranks? BTW we are purposely avoiding talking about other off-topic cycling competitions like triathlon, mountain biking& time trialing.
