>Hi, Does anyone know for sure if Mafac replacement brake pads always have "Mafac" molded in them? I have some pads that I got that were represented as Mafac pads. Since there is no name on them I suspect they were an aftermarket replacement rather than made by Mafac themselves. They seem to fit the holders just fine, road test to come soon.

Pete-

I have some pads probably from the same source (on a LaVipier card, right?). I have compared genuine "Mafac" marked pads against other copies and there are differences, but these pads appear to be exactly the same as Mafac. My guess is that these were made by Mafac in huge quantities for sale by LaVipier...
