Greetings campers

Attention has been diverted since my bleary eyed return from sunny T-town. This job gets weirder every day, but I now know why cockroaches get stuck in people's ears, and other bugs don't. That question has certainly been keeping me awake at night, for years. What does three days of "ear science" training have to do with my chosen career path? I have no clue. "Other duties as assigned". Anyway, now that that little episode is over, I'm catching up on the fun other people had at T-town. It was all a blur, but I must have had fun because I didn't miss ebay at all this week during ear-fest. And every hand/finger injury I've ever had came back to haunt me late in the day, so I must have fondled many a bike part. I also remember seeing a long line at the cash machine, just before the announcement that it ran out of money again this year. That always cracks me up. It's a dispenser, not a printer! Fun day with the bike kooks.

Particularly happy to hear the Roberts and the Lotus tourer found happy homes within the family. Really lusted for the Roberts at an earlier swap, but the wheelbase is about 3 inches shorter than my body can tolerate here in pavement free WV. And always looking for tourers, but just couldn't bring myself to deal with the early Deore components on the Lotus. No room in my little world for bikes that just take up space, and that's what would have happened to the Lotus without major component replacements. I'm holding out for another Specialized Expedition tourer to pound around on. (any leads would be appreciated. 56-58cm). Luuuuuv that 41.5-inch wheelbase. Maybe my pals Jill and Chris will let me ride their new steeds someday.

A few moments of special concern when I caught myself actually walking away from items I would normally have grabbed without hesitation, but I can always claim I was saving my shoulders by not buying the $5 big-bag-o-cassettes&freewheels. Accidentally left the wheelbarrow at home. And when I was playing with my little pile of loot at home I discovered I had bought some duplicate items (that's weird even for me), and made a couple other silly mistakes. "Hands are moving faster than the movin of my mind" (Sing it, Jorma). Not sure what it all means, but won't worry unless it becomes a pattern. Maybe it has already, and I just repress that knowledge. I prefer to blame it on sleep/food deprivation, and the many enjoyable distractions that came from running into other CR'ers. Having much more fun now that there are some familar faces around to laugh with. And the mistakes were cheap enough that I could afford to be wrong. Swap fodder for the Cirque. Anybody need a freewheel cog vice? Not something I really feel compelled to start "collecting", but apparently I was, and have been, subconsciously. My toolbag suddenly got much heavier.

Best mistake NOT made, was the opportunity to check out a 72 Raleigh Pro frame that had been listed for sale on a shop website. But up close and personal it's condition didn't come close to the description. Be careful out there.
