I had another look at the "55" Peugeot mixte for auction on ebay. I think the 1955 date is a bit off, by about a decade. The bike has a headbadge that is from the early sixties and the seat tube decal looks like the one on Josh Putnam's 1963 PX 10. I e-mailed the owner asking for some photos of the down tube decal to be sure. It does bear a resemblance to the 1955 catalog photo, but the decals and headbadge don't agree with what information I've been able to collect. It looks like it might be closer to a 1963-64 vintage than 1955.
