My silly moment was in 1974 0r 1975. It was winter at a monthly meeting of the Denver Wheelmen. I've been asked to show the members my new Ken Rogers racing trike. I make my presentation explaining the technical stuff like components, axle arrangement, advantages ( you can't fall over while riding on ice) etc.. Then someone asks me to ride it. Not a problem. I mount the trike I ride around the room. I demonstrate the turning technique. I turn on a dime. I ride on two wheels. I go backwards. I feel self-conscious with all of these hardcore roadies watching. Oh well, show and tell is over, time to get off. I loosen the straps, place one foot on the floor and swing the other over the saddle. But... My foot gets caught on the saddle and I fall on my butt with the trike on top of me. Blue frame, white tape, red face; the red, white and blue; laughter all aroundbecause of pride and an old shoe.
