Subject: [CR]Back on the bike again!

Yahoo, yeehah, woo woo woo and finally, to paraphrase a quaint American colloquialism, I'm the man. No, Dale, I haven't found a curly Hetchins in the local dump but I've just had my first bike run for a month!

Sorry to sound so over-the-top but with family and work commitments, bloody awful weather and darkness now descending at about 4.30 p.m., I can't seem to find the time. When I'm not working it seems my wife is, leaving me with three mad kids to control and no time for the bike.

Out of desperation-I don't really like riding in the dark-I fitted lights to my 62-inch fixed gear Claud Butler (who says that a wimpy gear!) and I'm just back from ten hilly miles around my home-still with that mad euphoria following a good workout

A third of the way into it I got cramp in my left calf, followed a few miles later by cramp in my right calf and, for the last few miles home, cramp in both legs (pathetic, eh?). Still, with the moon up, it was a hell of a ride and was a good reminder to spend less time tinkering with bikes and more time in the saddle.

Bruce, who will probably read this post tomorrow when his adrenalin level has subsided and cringe, Robbins
