Freddy Benjamin wrote, in part:

"information in exchange for a platform from which to sell their wares. As far as I'm concerned, if they can't contribute their information and knowledge free of charge, they shouldn't be on the list.

Come on Dale, put the brakes on these blatant traders.

As someone who's been on this list nearly since its inception I could not DIS-agree more with Mr. Benjamin. I'm interested in all this stuff, for sale and for purchase, and while I don't sell much right now...I do buy interesting bits on a regular basis, and find it very helpful to have For Sale items listed here.

If someone is scouring for parts, finds some cool stuff, and puts it up for sale here, I couldn't be happier. The truth is, I think Mr. Benjamin's ire is mis-placed: most canny sellers just go straight to ebay, where they'll almost always get a better price than they will here. I consider it a favor when someone lists for-sale stuff here: we're all pretty aware of the value of things, and there are few people here who will pay more than something's worth.

Finally, I should note that I've gotten some *great* deals here from sellers who were motivated by nothing more than the desire to help out another devotee of vintage lightweights..
