I'm a fairly recent arrival/lurker as it was only a couple of weeks ago that Richard Sachs turned me on to this list. I have to agree with Brian that while the overwhelming majority of the list members disagree with Freddy, the real point that sticks with me is that his opinion was respected, discussed calmly, and resolved to the list's satisfaction all the while expressing Freddy's continued welcome. As a longtime participant on other newsgroups and forums, I can say that's pretty rare. Congratulations all around. I'll return to my sponge mode now.
