FB ranted:

"Being blunt, I can't say I see your acceptance of this behaviour as a surprise. One would have to be very naive to think you set up the list-a recognised form of marketing for businesses-without thinking that it would serve to boost your own trade. Yes, you may have been inviting people to a party at your house but you weren't serving the drinks for free."

Charles opines:

I'm sure I won't be the only one to say this, Freddy, but your words above are competely misguided. Dale's gone through all kinds of hassles in managing this list, and he hardly ever puts anything up for sale here. My perception is that it's a labor of love and always has been. My sense is that you've not been here long enough to understand this. I suggest--mildly, no rancor intended--that you get off the high horse and just enjoy the list. No one forces anyone to buy or sell anything here...so I fail to see what your pique is all about.

Truth is, the drinks here are free, and always have been, and that's why this is a great list.
