Many of you will just say to run the bike with the road ends, but the rear derailleur hanger + cable guide bothers me on a fixed gear bike. The cheap way out would be to heat the cable guide off, and grind the derailleur hanger off - but that kind of smells of butchery.

I cut the derailleur hanger off my PX-10 Simplex dropout and used a file to shape EXACTLY like the dropout on the other size. The dropout is very malleable so it is not at all difficult. I also filed off the cable stop on the chainstay. I agree with you, on a fixed gear, it looks much cleaner.

But I wouldn't replace the road dropouts with track dropouts. Sheldon is right about the length and angle of the axle slot.
