Greg,

The Rivendell Reader has done an article on this( cloth tape& shellac) in the past. Maybe you can call them for the specific issue. I start at the bottom of the bars at work towards the top. Put two short strips behind the brake levers so that as you wrap you don't have to cover (completely) that large portion with the tape on the roll. I always use at least 2 1/2 rolls to do the job. One good thing is that you can unwrap what you have just done and try again. Just go slow and carefully stretch the roll over the bar. This will eliminate the wrinkles. Good luck.
