While I can't be sure until the paint is stripped, at a glance, my Gillott appears to be of fine quality although it is in serious need of a repaint.

Ken Denny says that my frame (#7100) is probably an Edwardes Gillott (it certainly has the block-letter logo that were predominant in the Edwardes era):

I believe it is a 1971 frame. It is actually a pretty nice bike, considering that it is not a "real" Gillott, but an Edwardes Gillott.

Your bike has Nervex "I" lugs and Allez fork crown (Cinelli style)‹both top shelf framebuilding components of the time. These components represent, to me, the departure of ornateness, with a preference towards the Italian influences of the time, that the entire world of framebuilding could not resist.

He also believes that:

The nicest Gillotts, in my opinion, are the early ones from Œ47-52. These used the high tolerance Oscar Egg spear-point lugs, and wonderful sweeping fork blades, on both oval and round. At this time they also produced framesets of tapered tubesets with "British Made" bottom bracket sets.
