I was under the impression that chainring sizes dictated that nothing smaller than 35 teeth would work and that someome did have a 35 tooth chainring available, not sure who. This was discussed on the BOB list some time ago and an inquiry to them might give you that name. Back in 1989 Richard Sachs gave me info for converting a NR double crankset to triple for my tourer using a combination that I'd heard of back in the '70's. The combination used Avocet inner chainrings which used a campy style spacer. I believe Wheelsmith in Palo Alto? did the conversion of drilling and tapping the crank for me way back then. I've got an Avocet 28 with Campy spacers for a half step + granny setup. That way almost any combination can be had if you can find the parts. The Campy spacers do rust like crazy though. The bike's on Richard Sachs website or you can find a closeup of the drivetrain at: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewPhoto?u86166&a338969&pP703649&f=0
