Brian, Chris etc, You folks bring up an interesting fact. I would wager a buck or two that Shimano dual pivots came out on the market a day and 20 years after Alttenberger's patent for dual pivots passed, ala slant-parallelogram derailluer introduction by Shimano. P.S.I do remember those "red anodized lever between the arms" on diacompe brakes and they worked very well. what happened to them, I have no idea.
