I've been having good success so far with the Vittoria Rally Kevlar-belted tubular, which is available in traditional black tread and can be bought online for as little as (amazingly) $10 each. Not a fine hand-made silk tubular to be sure, but if you just want something that holds up to debris-strewn roads and looks traditional, this could be the answer.

I gave up on tubulars years ago , I grew up on Del Mundos but as the amount of broken glass increased I started riding clinchers . Now that IM starting to get my vintage bikes back to their original condition, IM looking at tubulars again , and IM seeing all the colors of the rainbow , but not the classic fabric side walls with a black tread .
