As I am a devoted lover of high places by cycle, I often look at Francis & Sheila's Virtual Alps site for some inspiration: <http://www.cycling.uk.net/alps/index.htm>.

Views of St. Gotthard Pass Lee Berg mentioned are at: <http://www.cycling.uk.net/alps/sg.htm>. A few views of the "flying hairpin" which are cantilevered curves built out from the mountain (to adjust for the often messy and irregular earth you know ;-). I'd bet one's downhill speed could approach the frightening...

Maybe a good place for Brian and his trike?

Enjoy,

Jon
