I looked over the Vintage Velos website. The wool jerseys are gorgeous. The white Meltini world champion merino wool vintage is wonderfully understated. I also like the Meltini Campy in orange and black. Of the modern wool jerseys, I loved the Copenhagen in Yellow and bright blue. Of the modern wool jerseys made up for special groups (like the one we want for classic rendezvous), I liked the Yellow and red Wheelfine shop jersey.
My thoughts are these: I believe light colors and bright colors are better for older skin (showing less wrinkles). I also believe that the light bright colors are safer from a traffic point of view. I believe that anything in wool with minimal verbiage will look classical automatically. What's wrong with "Classic Rendezvous" and nothing more?
To sum up, here's what I favor: Yellow and Red with a multi colored striped sleeve band, with "Classic Rendezvous" in chainstiching. Simple elegant, classic looking and safe (wrinkle hiding). We don't need no stinking logos, or advertising for Campy, or Simplex or Brooks or Cinelli. "Classic Rendezvous" belongs to us and us alone, while Campy belongs to anyone who just happens to own some, for whatever reason they own it. Garth Libre in mid 60's Surfside Florida
