Subject: [CR]VIRUS WARNING

I have just finished removing the MAPI Worm virus from my computer. In a moment of brain fade I opened an email from Garth this morning even though it had a strange looking attachment. This contained the worm. This virus uses your email list to send itself to others. Because the message is from someone you know, you may open it, even though it has an attachment, without thinking first, as I did this morning. I immediately saw that messages were being sent without my directing this, so I shout down the system, downloaded a fix from the Symantec site, and used it to eliminate the virus. I don't know how many messages got sent, but DO NOT OPEN ANY MESSAGE FROM ME DATED TODAY IF THEY HAVE ATTACHMENTS. I have not and will not send any attachments today.

I for one wish the Feds would get serious about putting hackers in prison. While they only wasted a couple of hours of my time, when you multiple the damage by a million people, it becomes a serious crime. If a few of these clowns went to Federal prisons for ten years each, before any parole, this sort of activity would be greatly curtailed.

Regards,
