My recollection is that the rear 700 hub had some kind of super-fine thread rather than the standard 1-mm pitch or the Campy 26 tpi pitch. I would be surprised if the spec. is Whitworth. More likely it is .75 mm or .8mm or some non-standard metric spec. I have only seen such an axle on that particular model of hub.
