Well, the adjuster screw is about as far out as I have ever seen on a Brooks, almost as far out as son Gaelen's french "Mr. Agda", so that would account for at least an inch of the excessive length. According to Brooks, when a saddle is that stretched out, it is time to replace it with a new Brooks saddle.

Then again, it is just the thing for an enthusiastic rider, eh ?
