I was not aware of that. I bought the tool from my LBS in the late '70's / early '80's for the express purpose of working on my PX10, and I had no difficulty the one & only time I ever removed the crank from the bike. I trust you are correct, but I just used the tool for the purpose intended when I bought it - on the advise of my friend at the LBS, who is still in business BTW.
