Subject: [CR]gum rubber hoods.what exactly is paraffin wax.

Hi John.soft paraffin wax is harder than vaseline petroleum jelly but softer than candle wax.Ideal for rubbing in.Odourless and dries out none sticky.Only wax advised for protecting rubber products.Don`t know about beeswax but beeswax straight from the hive sure will make your hands stink when you come of those hoods.Vaseline soft paraffin wax and paraffin candle wax all petroleum based.Hope this clarifies things.BP (british pharmaceutical society.) Wax forms thin but dense coating over rubber keeping out ozone, oxygen, and weathering in general. Suggest application three times a year, just keep up the protective coating.Wax melting point 55 c. Laboratory suppliers also
stock it.
