It's a couple of days late, but I wanted to add to Mark's comments. I have to question the wisdom of seaking out used Ti spindles from a trashed pedal set for use on a rider bike. Even if you have a spindle set with a known history, thay are not known for reliability. A used set may have been crashed, or simply may have been used beyond their fatigue life. So, for a non-riding restoration that just must have Ti, it may be worth the difficult conversion, but for a rider, I'd stick to SL. Remember, nearly every SR equipped bike that ever saw action was actually "SR-reduced" with SL pedals and an NR bottom bracket. (the SR post and headset are also candidates for replacemnet with the more practical NR options).
