Since there have already been a couple Westminster Swap reports, I won't go into a lot of detail, except to say that it was quite an enjoyable event. I concur with Harvey, in that there seemed to be less "classic" stuff than in the past. Well, there's a way to change that. Gather up all that those things that you THINK you need, and set up a table. Join forces. I sent in my request for a table and asked to be located near the Sachs/Osborn table. The great organizers not only gave us adjoining tables, we had the primo spot in the warmest building. If we band together, we might get a whole corner, or a whole wall. Larry Black had a great Club Room/Refreshment Stand/Exhibit Hall set up, but it was in the next time zone.

Although heavily populated by MTB and current road stuff, the event still offers lots of interesting "finds", but you have to hunt for 'em. Beware tho', Larry O and Harvey S are masters, so it's hard to beat them to the worm. Harvey got a lifetime supply of 144 BCD chainrings for $25. My friend Rex came along and brought a huge pile of video tapes, old books, magazines, and old wool jerseys, which were a real hit. It caused a nice feeding frenzy at my table and in the back-wash, I sold off a lot of my "beater" parts. I didn't have as much time to shop and socialize as I'd like, but I still got around, thanks to some tag-team help (thanks Marty!)

I particularly want to thank all the list members that I hadn't previously met, who made the special effort to come by, introduce themselves and chat. It's great to meet additional CR members and to put some new faces with familiar names. Of course, I also want to thank all the usual suspects.

I've sent some pics to our fearless list-leader, and he's promised to post them so all can take a brief peek at the event.

Ciao -
