Douglas,
OH...MY...GOD! You CAN'T be serious! That bike is within a few miles of me. I know Dave at Pedal Pushing Bike Shop really well. Apparently not well enough for him to call me and say "Hey, I found a Rene Herse demountable your size, give me 5 bucks and it's yours". There's no way in hell I'm going to be able to score that bike! The Japanese collectors are going to be all over it because of the size. I've been on the loosing end of the small Rene Herse deal since the beginning. Almost never see them in the first place. RATS! I should have just stayed in bed this morning. My day, no my week, is ruined now, THANKS TO YOU!
So now what am I going to do? Pretty much the only thing I would love to have that I don't own already (other than a clean 1970 or '71 Colnago Super in 50cm or so) and I can't touch it! A few days ago I was praising ebay (scored a great drum for a really good price) but now I'm back to my normal mode of curseing it!
Well, I'm going to have to go sit in a corner and whimper for a few hours; sombody please hold me. Thanks for nothing, DOUGLAS! Crap!
Brian (inches from a Rene Herse that I'll never own) Baylis
La Mesa is a sad place indeed.
