Greetings and God's speed, It is strickly business at UPS, it's nothing personel against bikes...reduced claims equals more profits. We now ship much bigger and heavier stuff and bikes are a higher claims risk than computer paper boxes, heavy pumps, "freight". Our first fleets consisted of messenger bikes with paid advertizment signs built into the diamond of the frame!!, inverted monkeybars to help carry stuff in between the bars and double walled tires?? We even had a' racer' for that urgent message delivery!!! the bikes and uniforms are brown because it hids the dirt!! I am sorry for how some supervisers strap on their tyes too, but I just pray for them and remind them that for 23 years I have ridden this dock and would be happy to ' train' them again if need be !!
