I thought the implication was that maybe juyrecord2000 was a shill created by the seller. That would be both unfair and against eBay rules, if not outright illegal. Probably hard to prove that though, since a bidder with no feedback is not automatically a shill. Having bought several badged Simplex posts for one hell of a lot less, the bid does seem excessive, but none of mine are NOS. Maybe the size is the reason for the rarity and price - most Simplex posts of the era are 26.4 or 26.6 to match the dimensions of the metric-gauge 531 tubing on most French bikes of that era, while this one is 27.2.

Define unfair and why you think it's so. Do you feel Ichiy is more deserving than juyrecod2000? If you think people with no feedback shouldn't be able to bit one parts you're missing the point of an on-line "auction house." Everybody needs to start somewhere and I've said it before that people should be able to spend their money on anything they like. In my eyes the only seatpost that is worth $150 is jewel encrusted.
