Just got home from visiting George Gibbs' shop, Il Vechio, and the Pinarello pictured in Cyle Sport does hang on the wall. He has several other great classic bikes: Bianchi, Jack Taylor, a new Singer, to mention but a few. I was a bit mesmerized, so many of the finer details escaped my memory. Battaglin is also pictured riding a Calnago in the same magazine, and it has what looks to be a gold plated fork. The fork on the Pinarello is chromed Columbus. George also has a NOS Campy 50th Anniversay gruppo(1984?), complete in the orginal case, and it's for sale--if any of you are interested. That's not an advert, just information. George is a wealth of information and very generous. We chatted for an hour. It's sunny and the Bike Expo starts today here in Seattle. John Dally
