Bob, while I agree with some of the thought behind your message about the need to get on with it, the CR List wouldn't exist if framebuilding wasn't a form of art. If I just wanted to look at old bikes, I'd join a balloon tire bike group! I can't imagine that you continue to follow the Flying Scot because it is just a nice riding bike. Also, there is a lot of money and time spent in America (perhaps not Scotland) watching soap operas & afternoon talk shows. Perhaps this dialogue on Masi-Medici-Simonetti-Baylis-Cunningham-Allen-Confente is similar to How the World Turns or the Opra show. I know I anxiously tune in each morning to get the next episode. I regret the personal part of the emails too, but I've learned more about the 70s Southern California framebuilding "cult" than I would have had this not surfaced. Jim Cunningham and Brian Baylis have made immeasureable contributions to our hobby and these emails haven't taken away from that.
