The experts say that only a novice is influenced by decalĀ¹s.

This may be true but having spent thirty years in the graphic design profession/craft, I have to laugh at some of the efforts turned out by custom frame builders old and new! Their brazing talents far exceed their knowledge of art.

The most quirkiest head badge that I have owned was on a 1972 Galmozzi. See the Italian section of CR for a close-up detail. For those not familiar with this frame, it had a classic Italian Fighting Cockerel clenching a high flange hub with some nice scroll work above and below. It could almost have been a label on some fine wine.

The Fighting Cock in european culture is obviously fiercesome creature that fights to the death, but in N.America it is just a chicken which accounts for the very rude CLUCK CLUCK that I could overhear from the competition.
