The English 28x11/2" tires are completely different to the 700C tires that were recommended. The bead seat diameter is 635mm whereas the 700C is 622mm. There is much confusion in Canada as there were many English bikes with the 635s sold here and there were many Canadian built bikes which had 622s which were also marked 28x11/2".
