I have this 56cm beautiful blue Peugeot that I need to sell. I was originally going to piece it out, but that would be a bit of a hassle. I don't know the model, but it appears to be a mid level sport tourer. Simplex deraillers, and downtube shifters (not retrofriction.) The rear derailler is labeled Peugeot instead of Simplex. Atom six speed 14-28 freewheel. Stronglight cranks (don't know model number) with the rare 122 BCD. The fork is half chrome, half that neat blue paint. Frame made out of Carbolite 103, a 'home' Peugeot made tubing. Weinmann Centerpulls, labeled Peugeot instead of Weinman. Somewhere along the line someone added the, uh, controversial Dia-Compe 'safety' levers. :-) Decals on the frame are clear coated over. Frame says on various decals, "Recorde Du Monde", "Course", and of course, along the downtube, "Peugeot". Definitely a nice classic bike, though not so classic as to be unridable. Rigida 27 1/4 rims. Atax stem, with Franco Italia handlebars. Those parts labeled Peugeot, the brakes and the rear derailer, say Peugeot in big, highly readable letters. ESGE kickstand. Bad parts: Both chainstays are a bit beat up paintwise, though structurally sound. The kickstand clamp has performed it's dreaded work upon the chainstays. The front derailler clamp is made of plastic (remember, it's Simplex) and has started to crack. Still ridable. A little bit of super glue should patch it up for quite a while. The bike needs a chain, cables, and handlebar tape. I'll install them for free, if you pay the materials cost.

Overall a nice classic rider. Everything - pedals, even the seat and chain say made in France (I'll throw in the old chain for free.) See Sheldon Brown's site about these old french bikes for a wonderful rundown on that era of bikes.

So, price. I figure $60 for the geartrain (the exact same model of cranks (though in nicer condition) went for over 2/3rds this price recently on eBay) + $40 for the frame, + $15 for the brakes + $20 for handlebars, stem, seat, seat post, pedals and the other odds and ends. I don't want to take the time/work to piece it out. I'm asking $110 + whatever postage turns out to be. I'll pack it myself for free, but if you want, I'll take it into the local bikeshop and have them pack it (they do charge for that service.)
