I used (broke) lots of these rims, and remember not paying much over
fifteen dollars ea for them. Can't remember if it was a shop deal, or
that was the price. To this day, I am not very nice to wheels. One odd
thing about these rims, is that I don't remember ever seeing them on a
new bike?

Heavy yes, but I always liked the big sidewall and the way you could really get some serious tension into the wheel with these. I have a box of them, and am still riding 'em.
