Subject: [CR]Wrapup of the post TaxDay - pre Cirque ride 22 April in PA

We had a dozen riders for the "...ahem..." first ride. The sky was overcast, but the temp was up to 70, slight wind. We left Lititz Springs Park at 12:30 (I did say noonish) did a 21 mile loop through farmland, pass some buggies, over a covered bridge, and back to my place for the party. The food and drink were plentiful, and thanks for the donations. I'd like to list the riders (in no particular order) and again thanks to all!

Myself- on my Nashbar Glenn Flick - Novera Randaneer (sp) Rodney & Vera Moseman - Moseman tandem (later Rodney rode over on his 3 spd Moseman) Eric Zwickey - Bridgestone RB-1 Mike Rawlings - Waterford Paramount w/ Joe bell paint Joe Stafford - Schwinn Carolyn Stafford - Terry Mike Napolitano - Bridgestone XO-1 Ray Sachs - Rivendell long-low (interesting next to the XO-1) Charles Young - Falcon w/ ( my guess) Fresh Frame paint Donnie (Charles' cousin) - Trek Y-job w/ narrow tires

Afterward my wife Janet and Daniel Artley came in for the gathering.

Several RSVPs on not being able to make it, (including one from Australia!) but don't worry;

** There will be another ride***

I'm still mulling over details (and recovering from yesterday...)

Notes & interesting observations:

I hadn't seen a XO-1 or Rivendell in the flesh (metal?) before, very, very nice. Lititz has 3 ibobs for a population of 9000, any other places with that concentration? Beer isn't a popular after-ride drink (my surprise) (bad joke warning) The only Fixed guy to come was my dog...<G> If you look at a Joe Bell paint job in the sun, wear shades... Shellac on handlebars is easily repaired (...oops...) Banana bags look very nice too... We're not just a bunch of old farts, or if we are, we can still hammer on a bike... Janet ;^)

If you're thinking of putting a ride together, do it! It doesn't have to be as elaborate as this one was, as someone put it, "I'll go anywhere, anytime for a ride!"
